Activities, trips and events
Our Activity Coordinator keeps our residents active and entertained with a fun-packed calendar. Activities include: singing and music sessions, bingo, dominoes, quizzes, art and crafts, exercise sessions, church services, biblical yoga and personal support from our Chaplain who is employed at Chapel Fields.
We enjoy regular visits from pet therapy animals and have even welcomed alpacas and chickens in to Chapel Fields.
We regularly go out on trips to the local high street and weekly market. And we love any excuse to put on a themed event.
“There are always activities planned for the residents should they want to get involved and mix socially with the other residents.” Independent relative review, carehome.co.uk
Award winning music therapy
Chapel Fields is committed to providing alternative therapies such as music therapy to help alleviate isolation and the symptoms for those living with dementia. Our trained therapist is funded by charitable donations.
They spend one day a week at the home and interact directly with residents through live music therapy sessions. This includes singing, playing simple percussion instruments or responding to musical cues in a one-to-one or group setting. Take a look at our video to find out more about this life changing therapy.
Chaplaincy and pastoral support
Chapel Fields is proud to be supported by a dedicated Chaplain, who offers pastoral support to all, whatever their beliefs. The Chaplain is in the home three days a week, providing a listening presence, companionship and one-to-one pastoral support for all residents, their friends and relatives, and staff members - irrespective of their beliefs - and organise worship for those who wish to participate.
Seize the day - making unique and memorable opportunities
Funded through charitable support, every MHA care home also prides itself in being able to offer unique and memorable opportunities and activities for residents to quite literally help them 'seize the day'.
We recently supported our resident, Cliff, to visit the Mersey Gateway in Runcorn. Cliff, a former engineer, mentioned he’d crossed the old Mersey Bridge many times but had never seen the new bridge, which opened in 2017. We arranged for Cliff to be escorted to the top floor of the observatory in the lift to enjoy the views of the gateway, bridge, original bridge and the railway bridge.
